“Revelation can only be given and received in a Spiritualist age. The Bible is full of revelations because it contains the records of a Spiritualist age. It needs psychic knowledge to interpret it aright. Without that knowledge, such a story cannot be understood in any sane way.”
So says the Rev Maurice Elliott, who, in this marvellously written, easily understood volume, brings the Old Testament’s colourful characters of 2,000 years ago alive and interprets the psychic side of the Bible.
“The purpose of this book,” he says, “is to show that the Bible is full of psychic happenings... I am not concerned with the historicity of the psychic stories, but only with the fact that they are narrated as psychic stories which, unless given a psychic interpretation, do not make sense.quite unique book. “The Bible is a continuous record of psychic manifestation... Spiritualism’s supreme message is not only, or chiefly, one of comfort to the bereaved. It is that this world and the Spirit World interpenetrate, and that death does not change our characters.”
Nonetheless, Rev Maurice Elliott is critical of orthodox based religions. “Today,” he writes, “we are still living under the tyranny of the petrified orthodoxies. Bishops, priests and churches believe that revelation is closed, and that no fresh or further light and inspiration can be received.
The Rev Elliott asserts, among other claims, that the twelve apostles “were chosen for their psychic gifts,” that “a medium united the clans of Israel” and that Moses was “a great physical medium.” In short, this is a fascinating and quite unique book.(191 pages)
